Day 11: We pay 20 euro for an incredible view and really become tourists

On day 11 we had a rest for our soul, mind and body. Waking up in the morning we looked out of our tent into crystal clear turquoise water with our own secluded waterfront. Unfortunately we had been a little over zealous with the sun the day before so today we were a little shy. Our mission became to make some shade, we rigged the tent canopy and made a nice little sunshade for a while. Then the wind had other ideas and we abandon that plan. Fortunately we found other shade and of course ate some bread, sausage and cheese, our usual diet.

Our shade kept shrinking and shrinking....

Getting into the water was a little complicated.

There was a lovely little stone path that led down to our site.

Our shade that didn't last long.

We tied most of the animals up for the day, they needed a break too.

The bathrooms...it was an open door shower kind of place.

We found out what Croatia does to chocolate. Mirm didn't seem to mind though.

We played tourists in the city of Split.

Which of course included pirate tourists.

If we look hot and tired that's because we are.

In the afternoon we left that place of happiness and went to find even more beautiful place. Along the way we had a mishap which we will never speak of that taught us all a very valuable lesson and made us thankful our accommodations were so cheap. That is all we'll say. We then stopped in the city of Split and sweated around the narrow stone streets. We made sure to be true tourists and buy matching hats.

We finished out the night by driving a little farther and finding a little place near the water to eat some delicious fish.

To stay the night we found Tomas Camping who appeared to fighting with Bianca camping next door. We finished the night by drinking Austrian beer cooled by the sea and watching the shooting stars.

Day 10: The Animals perform as they were intended but our sunscreen does not

So the results of today were we all ended up with the Austrian flag represented on our bodies, red-white-red. Yes Mom, we used sunscreen, but somehow, not enough...

We went to a bakery first thing in the morning, found some coffee for the morning grumpies and set out for the beach. The rest of the day was spent floating on the animals. Fortunately we had already practiced for this in Vienna.

The most exciting part of the day was when we lost the cantaloupe melon in the sea. It was quite an expedition to rescue it but made good use of the mask and snorkel.

How most of our day went...
The melon rescue operation.

Someone kindly left us a clothesline and a broken chair at our campsite. Which of course we took as a gift and brought with us to the next place.

We decided that it was so beautiful, so awesome, so amazing and we loved it so much that we never wanted to leave. Except that we decided to see what was next down the road, so we assumed our usual positions in the car and drove into the evening to the next awesomely amazing place ;)
